My client, a world leader in the development of scientific instrumentation, is looking for a Business Development Manager in Southampton to join their team.
The team has many years' experience in selling into both R&D and OEM customers. They have a range of stock crystals & waveguides and can design custom chips for the demanding customer base.
The role will involve working primarily in a technology-rich sales environment, focusing on selling their existing product lines, managing opportunities from enquiry through to close, and some financial reporting.
This role would be ideal for a technically qualified individual looking to progress their career in Technical Sales.
Responsibilities for the Business Development Manager based in Southampton:
1. Proactively create opportunities for product sales
2. Respond to enquiries and work with customers to maximise order intake
3. Support the HoS with campaigns focused on new customer acquisition
4. Develop quotes, proposals, and sales contracts consulting with the delivery team on operational matters
Skills & Experience for the Business Development Manager based in Southampton:
1. Provable experience in a fast-moving sales environment
2. Relevant degree or equivalent e.g. Physics, Optics, Materials Science
3. Ability to work as an individual but also as part of a team based in the UK
4. Ability to develop new long-term relationships with customers
