Your role at Veezu:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented In-House Commercial Trainee Solicitor to join our legal team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commercial law within a corporate environment. The successful candidate will assist in providing legal support across various business functions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and contributing to the overall success of the company.
This role will provide you with assistance from In-House Lawyers to help you on your path to qualification via the SQE. You will be reporting directly to Nia Cooper (Chief Legal Officer).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting in the reviewing, drafting, negotiating and execution of a wide range of commercial contracts and ancillaries, including supplier contracts, non-disclosure agreements, license agreements, SaaS agreements, data processing agreements and other commercial agreements as needed.
2. Reporting to senior management on progress of matters.
3. Identifying and managing legal risks and advising on compliance with relevant laws.
4. Providing support and guidance on various areas of commercial and contract law and working closely with the wider teams.
5. Identifying opportunities to improve contract management processes to drive scale and efficiency.
6. Assisting with both small county court claims and Employment Tribunal litigation.
7. Communicating with and managing external counsel as needed.
8. Undertaking legal research and advising on changes to commercial law and regulations and ensuring legal and contractual compliance (including in relation to UK and EU GDPR).
9. Willingness to support other areas of the business as needed.
10. Be committed to maintaining our ISO27001 certification and set high standards for Information Security compliance.
What you’ll need:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.
2. Strong interest in commercial law and corporate governance.
3. Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience:
1. Previous experience in a legal environment, such as an internship or paralegal role, is preferred but not required.
