Civil Engineer - North West Minor Improvements Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineer to join their North West Minor Improvements Team, based in Perth. This role involves working within a dynamic and diverse team to investigate, design, procure, and oversee the construction of various improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:
·Assist in investigating, designing, planning, procuring, and managing the construction of improvement works on the trunk road network.
·Carry out detailed designs for trunk road improvement schemes, ensuring compliance with technical standards.
·Utilize knowledge of the Design Manual for Road and Bridges (DMRB) and prepare Departures from Standard if required.
·Follow Road Safety Audit and Walking, Cycling & Horse-Riding Assessment processes.
·Prepare reports, feasibility studies, and option assessments.
·Work closely with other internal departments and sub-contractors to deliver improvement schemes.
·Produce tender documents, preconstruction information, and construction packages.
·Collaborate with commercial specialists for tender evaluations and contract awards.
·Supervise and measure works and liaise with environmental specialists to ensure mitigation measures are implemented.
·Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures and CDM Regulations.
·Maintain asset and as-built records using Transport Scotland's systems.
·Provide cost estimates, monitor project financial performance, and assist Graduate Engineers and Technicians.
·Deliver projects within an annual program and respond to third-party correspondence as required.
Candidate Requirements:
·Experience: Demonstrated civil engineering design experience.
·Qualifications: Membership of a professional body or a clear path to achieving professional qualification. Applications from Graduate Engineers will also be considered.
·Skills:
oProficient in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office suite.
oCivils 3D experience is desirable.
oStrong communication skills and ability to manage a diverse workload.
·Licenses: A full, approved UK driving license is essential.
