An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Environmental Protection and Community Safety working as part of the frontline team alongside district Environmental Health Officers enforcing matters relating to Environmental Protection and Public Health including complaints of antisocial behaviour, noise, odour, dust, and any other environmental concern or potential statutory nuisance. You will be required to work directly with the public, providing advice and investigating and responding to their concerns. This will include contributing to monitoring and sampling programmes, assisting in the collection of evidence and compiling reports and notices to support enforcement action where necessary. You will work within a team of Environmental Health professionals and work closely with partner agencies to provide advice and deliver positive outcomes to people in need of help making a fundamental difference to our local community. What you’ll be doing: Carry out and respond to service requests, complaints and scheduled inspections in accordance with the provision of environmental legislation Undertake monitoring to support the collection of evidence in respects to investigations Prepare and submit detailed reports and similar in respect of any inspection or investigation undertaken What you’ll need: Experience in dealing with challenging situations, demonstrating good customer care and communication. The ability to prepare reports, statements and keep detailed records of actions. Good Standard of Education (minimum 6 GCSE’s Grade 6 or above, or equivalent including English, Maths and Science. Experience working within Environmental Protection would be advantageous Diploma or Degree in an Environmental Protection discipline such as environmental noise would be advantageous If you thrive in a team that contributes to making a difference to those facing difficult situations then we want to hear from you.
