About the Job The Test Analyst plays a key role in the organisation by ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by providing quality assurance and testing support services to projects and business-as-usual activities. The purpose of the role is to improve software quality by testing software products based on requirements analysis throughout project and business-as-usual activities, thereby enabling the capture of bugs early in development and change processes. Please note that in September 2025 our Cardiff Office will relocate to Fusion Point One, Dumballs Road, Cardiff, CF10 5BF. The building is a 5-minute walk from Cardiff Central Station and a 10-minute walk to the city centre. Our new offices will have 60 parking spaces available which will be reservable online. Key Responsibilities Prepare, maintain, execute and report on test artefacts including test planning, scripting, execution, regression, and reporting. Ensure correct test processes and approaches are implemented, bugs are identified and resolved, and reporting is provided to guide implementation processes. Ensure test artifacts are maintained, updated, and executed in line with business process changes. Identify and apply suitable testing techniques and processes for project and BAU activities. Identify manual scripts that are suitable for automation. Advise on functionality and help with functional trouble shooting. Contribute to creation of automated scripts. Identify and report on software defects, working closely with developers to resolve issues. Provide guidance to external suppliers to ensure they are fully conversant with IB testing standards and deliverable expectations. Review the work of external suppliers to ensure they are compliant with IB testing standards and deliverable expectations. Provide stakeholder reporting throughout the test phases using Azure dashboards and other reporting functionalities. Contribute to decisions in bug management. Advise and recommend next development steps based on test case outcomes. Contribute to decisions on test approach. About You Proven experience of software testing on numerous projects, including writing formal test documentation and executing test scripts. ISEB Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing (or equivalent commercial testing experience) is preferable. Understanding of software testing methodologies, best practices, and quality assurance principles. Experience of maintaining a stable test environment to ensure test systems / data are fit for purpose. Practical experience of Agile development methodologies and ability to work effectively within an Agile Scrum team. Experience of using of Azure Boards: Sprint task board management and tracking of assigned tasks. Working experience of Azure Test Plans or similar applications: Script writing, test plan creation, test execution, dashboard creation & maintenance. Ability to use technical data manipulation techniques to interrogate backend databases. Confident communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
