Bankton Primary School sits in the centre of Livingston and are seeking an enthusatic Early Year Officer. In consultation with the Head teacher, ELC Area Support Manager and the early years team within the setting, the EYO will also take a lead role for organisation in the nursery and ensure effective partnership working with all stakeholders.
The post of Early Years Officer (ELC) is a key post within the school management structure and will develop and promote high quality learning experiences for all children within the setting. The setting is open 50 week per year and offers morning, afternoon and full day placements. Staff working flexibly across the opening hours from 7.45am – 6.15pm Monday – Thursday and 7.45 – 1pm on a Friday.
The post holder must have an HNC in childcare or equivalent and be able to demonstrate breadth and depth of experience in an early year’s educational establishment and hold SSSC registration as a practitioner.
The successful candidates must also be willing to work towards BA degree in Childhood Practice within 3 years and complete a SQA module in Leadership.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
