About the opportunity: The Sellafield Product & Residue Store (SPRS) Retreatment Plant (SRP) Project will provide a facility that receives Special Nuclear Material (SNM) from existing stores across the Sellafield site and processes it into a form suitable for safe and secure storage until 2120. This is a national strategic asset. This new Retreatment Plant project will make Sellafield safer sooner by; - Safely receiving all SNM packages from their current storage locations. - Retreating and/or repackaging those packages into 100-year packages. - Transferring the new 100-year packages to the Sellafield Product & Residue Store (SPRS); and - Enabling all SNM to remain safe and secure in this Store - into the next century and beyond. The SRP Project is currently in the Construction phase which includes procurement, manufacture, works test, installation, and commissioning. This role is required to provide both design support activities to the supply chain, along with completion of outstanding design scope from earlier project phases. Furthermore, the role will include overseeing implementation of formal Design Change. To support the delivery of the SRP Project, we are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support the project. Responsibilities will include: - Working within an integrated team of Civil and Structural Engineers and Architects - Producing detailed structural design packages to the latest British and European standards. - Working closely with and take direction from the Civil and Structural Lead to ensure key deliverables and submission dates are met. - Consulting with all relevant members of the project design team - Providing support to and assist in the development of quality management and control procedures. - Ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 in the design process. - C omplies with legislative, regulatory and company policy standards and procedures e.g., safety, quality, risk, security etc. applicable to the role. - Identify any changes to design for coordination with the wider Design Team - BSc or BEng Minimum 5 years relevant structural design experience - Have good technical knowledge of internal building fit-out design and detailing. - Have thorough working knowledge in the use of BIM and various collaboration tools. - Experience working on large scale industrial and commercial projects. - Good knowledge of engineering principles, current construction practices and materials selection Our Culture: Our values stand on a foundation of safety, integrity, inclusion, and diversity.
