Position: Interim Registered Manager
Location: Hexham
Hours: Monday – Friday, 37 hours per week
Duration: 3 - 6 months (potential for temp-to-perm opportunity)
Rate: Negotiable for interim cover
Temp-to-Perm Rate: £23.32 - £25.61 per hour, based on experience
Permanent Salary: Equivalent salary range of £45,000 - £49,400 per year + £700 on-call allowance
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Registered Manager for immediate cover in our Hexham Residential Children's Home, a purpose-built residential care facility providing short breaks and ongoing residential care for children with moderate to severe learning disabilities. This interim position, with potential to move into a permanent role, is a key leadership opportunity within a dedicated team that strives to create a warm and supportive environment for our residents.
About Us:
Our Children's Home is designed to meet the diverse needs of disabled children aged 13-16, offering a comfortable and safe space in a five-bedroom bungalow with modern facilities, two bathrooms, and multiple communal spaces for living and play. We aim to enrich each child’s life with a variety of activities, both indoors and outdoors in our enclosed garden, which includes accessible play equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the daily operations of our home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
2. Lead and manage a dedicated care team, promoting a compassionate, inclusive environment for residents.
3. Develop and implement care plans tailored to the unique needs of each resident.
4. Maintain effective communication with families, social services, and healthcare professionals.
5. Ensure safeguarding policies are strictly upheld to provide a safe, positive environment for the children in our care.
Requirements:
1. Registered Manager qualification or equivalent management experience in residential care for children.
2. Proven experience working with children with learning disabilities.
3. Strong leadership and team management skills.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
5. Ability to handle complex situations with professionalism and empathy.
