CBRE GWS are a leading provider of Integrated Facilities Management. We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Shift Lead to join our Global account team in Chester on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will deliver / maintain day to day PPM tasks, reactive and sub-contractor maintenance. You will be a member of a successful team who are committed to achieving the clients and company objectives. Additionally, you will support the Engineering manager and be an integral member of the team.
Key Responsibilities
1. To support the shift team provision of service.
2. Provide cover to support any work efforts required out of normal working hours.
3. Day to Day involvement with Building Management System.
4. Undertake and maintain day to day PPM records.
5. Undertake general housekeeping duties.
6. To instill best working practices.
7. Maintain compliance to all H & S policies in all areas.
8. To support colleagues, ensuring their motivation and commitment to the client, contract, and company.
9. Take a proactive approach to resolve all day to day problems.
10. Monitor and review permits and working practices on all maintenance activities.
11. To review and fully understand all emergency procedures.
12. Booking in relevant maintenance visits.
13. Quoting for various works.
14. Arrange various site works.

2. Interface with tenants and clients at all levels.
3. Compliance with all statutory and safety obligations.
4. Integrate fully with all different CBRE departments to ensure seamless delivery of services.

Personal Experience / Qualifications / Skills
Candidates will be time served and have, as a minimum, an academic qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering. Applicants are expected to have several years prior experience, some of which will have been in a similar role, and have good customer skills. It is essential staff are self-motivated and promote a "Can do" customer attitude at all times.
Duties
1. Multi-skilled engineer with a knowledge of HVAC, Building services (water, gas, heating, ventilation, and waste).
2. Having a flexible attitude with a "can do" approach and who is prepared to work outside their skill base to provide a customer-based service.
3. Be prepared to undertake training as required by the post and the contract manager.
4. Having administration skills to maintain computer-based and hardcopy systems for statutory inspection and test.
5. Be able to react and work on their own initiative on an on-call system.
6. Be prepared to work on multiple sites as required.
7. Operate all systems within the building in a competent, effective, and efficient manner, adhering to CWES guidelines and bulletins.
8. Ensure that service providers work sheets are signed off, quality of works are inspected, and any recommendations are escalated.
9. Responsible for critical equipment.
10. Responsible for escalation of all incidents (CFIR) as referred to in the CWES handbook ensuring the approved escalation procedure is adhered to.
Skills
1. Planning including prioritization of tasks from PPM's and help desk requests.
2. Reacting to breakdowns and change in priorities.
3. Sourcing and vetting quotations.
4. Vetting safe system paperwork and issuing Permits and Authority to work as appropriate.
5. Work issuing.
6. Progress control and quality control.
7. Safe system and work control system closeout.
Knowledge
1. Proven experience as a shift engineer in building services within a prestigious environment.
2. City and guild qualification and any relevant qualification in all aspects of building services mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
3. Must have team working experience and excels at motivation of small teams under substantial pressure. Must have the ability to think clearly in extreme circumstances.
