We are recruiting an HCA or GPA to join our team at Rainhill Village Surgery who has previous experience as an HCA or GPA. This is a permanent position. Salary will be based on knowledge and negotiable depending on experience with standard NHS pension.

You will be required to undertake the full range of HCA duties. Where necessary, training, support, and mentoring will be provided. We are looking for a candidate with commitment to excellence, reliability, and adaptability.

Job responsibilities
To provide, support, and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced HRA and in addition any roles agreed between the HCA and the doctors as appropriate.
Nursing
1. New patient registration checks, including completing any necessary paperwork
2. BP monitoring, 24hr BP monitoring
3. Urinalysis
4. ECGs
5. Provide lifestyle advice to patients making any necessary referrals within the practice
6. Weight monitoring
7. Ensure specimens are labelled and bagged ready for collection with the necessary paperwork completed
8. Ensure sharps bins are checked and replaced regularly and are ready for collection
9. Clinical stock monitoring
10. Restocking of clinical areas and consulting rooms
11. Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Admin
1. Participate in the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team
2. Ensure accurate and legible notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients' notes
3. Ensure the clinical computer system is kept up to date with accurate details recorded
4. Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care and registration with the practice
5. Ensure collection and maintenance of statistical information required for regular and ad hoc reports
6. Attend and participate in practice meetings as required
7. Assist in formulation of practice philosophy, strategy, and policy
8. Support QOF and any Projects
9. To create and send recall letters for clinics
10. To assist in seasonal and special projects as requested e.g. flu campaign
11. Ordering and display of health promotion materials
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working within a nursing team
* Experience of dealing with vulnerable patients
* Experience of working in a GP practice
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Qualified to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care
* GPA Qualification
* Qualified in Phlebotomy
* Qualified to NVQ level 3
