Engineering Administrator | Southampton | Competitive salary plus excellent benefits | 6 months fixed term contract
Monday-Friday - office hours
Job Purpose: The Engineering Supervisor is a key member of the Engineering team who is instrumental in ensuring compliance with all current legislation and Spire policies regarding Estate management.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Compliance and efficiency: To maintain grounds, building fabric, building services, and all hospital equipment in a cost-effective manner, ensuring minimal asset downtime thus maximizing facility utilization.
2. Engagement: To effectively lead the Engineering team to build engaged individuals who provide efficient and consistent ways of working in line with the Spire Healthcare values and behaviors.
3. Performance: To manage the day-to-day performance of the team to deliver the Key Performance Indicators.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that all documentation required for the Engineering audit is up to date and filled in the correct location.
2. Ensure that all HS21 contractor documentation is up to date and signed off by the Facilities Manager and filled correctly, including upload to the CMMS system.
3. Support the Facilities Manager in ensuring all Facilities policies are up to date.
4. Ensure all relevant information is uploaded onto Pirana.
5. Keep all facilities trackers up to date.
6. Input all water test results into the live tracker, ensuring compliance for the water safety group.
7. Manage AMAT, ensuring that all relevant information is uploaded.
8. Record meeting minutes and actions for all Facilities departments.
9. Support the Equipment Coordinator to ensure upkeep of medical equipment when not on site.
10. Record and schedule all new equipment and services for planned maintenance on the network CMMS.
11. Track all remedial works identified in infrastructure, plant, and equipment inspection reports.
12. Support the Facilities Manager in accurate record keeping for audit purposes.
13. Assist the Facilities Manager with ordering of spares, services, and consumables for the Engineering & Facilities department.
14. Lead on waste management at the hospital, ensuring compliance and waste segregation.
15. Deliver waste training to hospital staff.
16. Serve as the main point of contact for waste.
17. Deliver a monthly waste report with actions and targets for improvement.
18. Establish, monitor, and develop local policies and procedures in conjunction with current Spire Policy, HTM, and Code of Practices.
19. Work in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and Spire H&S policies.
20. Feedback contractor performance issues of any centrally negotiated contracts.
21. Provide training to hospital teams in areas of expertise/responsibility.

2. Experience in building services management with a track record of success.
3. Knowledge of building services.
4. Able to prioritize demands against resources.
5. Able to develop objectives in line with corporate/local business plans.
6. Able to negotiate service levels and local contracts with external suppliers.
7. Able to assure hospital compliance with changing legislation.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including listening and negotiation skills.
9. Ability to build relationships with all customer groups.
10. Highly literate and numerate.
11. Commercially astute with good planning skills.
12. Ability to influence diverse sets of audiences.
13. IT literate and a competent user of the MS Office suite of products.
14. Results driven, with high levels of determination and initiative.
15. Proactive and able to self-motivate.
16. Willingness to work outside of normal hours as required.
