Bouygues UK has a fantastic opportunity available for a Quantity Surveyor to work on one of our upcoming long-term projects in Exeter. We are looking for someone to join us in Bristol for the preconstruction phase, before moving to site in Exeter mid next year. This is an excellent opportunity for a QS who is passionate about seeing projects through from preconstruction to completion. Job Purpose and Scope: To manage commercial aspects on a large-scale scheme in Exeter. Liaise and collaborate with construction and design teams in all aspects of contractual activities. Take ownership for maximising commercial results and to represent and meet client expectations to encourage repeat business. Accountabilities and key tasks: Ensure optimum commercial return for the project. Accurately prepare cost/value reconciliation reports. Agree interim valuations on schedule for commercial advantage. Prepare and finalise client accounts with senior management. Finalise subcontractor accounts to maximise margins. Prepare subcontract orders per company procedures, aligned with procurement schedules and contract programs. Control subcontractor accounts and minimise variation costs. Manage subcontractor valuations and correspondence. Prepare turnover cash flow forecasts, updating and recording actuals as required. Submit interim valuations and projected final accounts with each report. Evaluate and agree on interim valuations and stage payments. Support in resolving delays and document relevant information. Report potential problems to the Line Manager and seek guidance. Provide feedback to the project team and estimating department. Possess knowledge of relevant contracts and assist in resolving disputes. Re-measure subcontractor values and arrange payments as per company procedures. Attend project meetings as directed. About You: Essential: Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a main contractor. Strong commercial awareness. Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produces accurate work. Communicates information and ideas proactively and confidentially in a way which is received positively, both verbally and in writing. Shares knowledge with others. Manages time effectively. Desirable: Degree or other technical qualification. RICS / CIOB qualification. Have experience on £50m Projects. Have experience on residential or student accommodation.
