Role: Pastoral Manager
Location: Reddish Hall School, Stockport
Salary: £28,303.84 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Pastoral Manager to join our close-knit team at Reddish Hall School, part of Acorn Education.
About the Role
We are looking for a pupil-focused, trauma-informed practitioner to lead our pastoral support team in the role of Pastoral Manager. With day-to-day responsibility for supporting pupil behaviour by responding to their needs, the successful candidate will need to be empathetic, calm, and clear in holding boundaries, with a relational approach to all interactions. As a central point of information and communication for pupils, staff and families, they must demonstrate a good standard of written and spoken English, the ability to relay information clearly and effectively and to ensure recording of communications and information is accurate and timely.
The successful candidate will be proactive, using data and information from a range of sources to promptly identify emerging pupil needs, both individually and at a whole-school level, and will work closely with the Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour and Attitudes to develop and implement strategies as required. As in any school setting, there are times where physical restraint is required to keep pupils and others safe. Our pastoral manager has a central role in the monitoring and debriefing of restraint incidents and their associated record keeping.
The role of pastoral manager requires a dedication to positive outcomes for our pupils, the ability to work as a central part of a diverse staff team and the ability to manage a varied workload effectively.
Key responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):
* Provide day-to-day pupil support across our two school sites both in and out of class
* Help to develop one-to-one mentoring sessions with pupils and provide support for distressed pupils.
* Support the implementation of agreed learning activities and teaching programmes and adjust activities according to pupil responses and needs.
* Assist in the development and implementation of individual Education/ Behavioural/ Support/ Mentoring plans and behaviour management strategies.
* Advise and support staff around pupil behaviours and responses
* Monitor the social, emotional and behavioural development of students within the school, liaising with the staff team and offering support where necessary
* Liaise with parents, carers and some wider agencies as required, including leading targeted support meetings for focus pupils
* Record communications and behavioural/pupil information on our central recording systems
* Organise and manage reflective and restorative activities for pupils
* Analyse of and reporting on behaviour data and wider information to identify required actions
* Organise pupil rewards activities
* Oversee staff and pupil debriefing for incidents where restraint is used
* Complete pupil referrals for therapeutic and/or academic support as needed
* Implementation and upholding of key school systems, expectations and practices
* Provide objective and accurate feedback to other staff on pupil achievement, progress and other matters as requested.
* Assist with the supervision of pupils on visits, trips and out-of-school activities as required.
* Attend and participate in regular meetings, training and other learning activities as required, contributing to the overall ethos and aims of the school.
* Be aware of, and comply with, policies and procedures relating to child protection; health and safety; confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
* Be aware of and support differences and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
