We are seeking a Lead Maintenance Engineer to provide reactive and preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment at our Belle Eau Park facility in Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Manage the performance of maintenance work, both preventative and corrective.
2. Carry out and document mandatory inspections.
3. Assess in-house and outsourced technical activities and develop existing and new talent.
4. Liaise with HR and the Site Manager regarding recruitment, employment termination, promotions, and payroll issues of maintenance staff.
5. Conduct appraisals and performance reviews.
6. Manage spare parts inventory according to procedures, including ordering and maintaining optimal stock levels.
7. Coordinate with suppliers for efficient handling of malfunctions and repairs.
8. Work closely with Site Management for timely and coordinated actions.
9. Administer company policies and manage local SOPs.
10. Investigate accidents following company procedures.
11. Address employee concerns and maintain open communication channels.
12. Supervise, train, and provide feedback to the Maintenance Team, ensuring health and safety compliance, and conduct weekly meetings.
13. Resolve breakdowns, reduce downtime, and improve plant reliability.
14. Support team collaboration to solve problems and keep the facility operational.
Work environment: You will operate in a cold environment (~minus 20°C), with full PPE provided, including coats, hats, and boots. Occasionally, work on ladders and safety harnesses at heights.
Who we're looking for:
* Multi-skilled, electronically and mechanically qualified, NVQ Level 3 or apprenticeship trained, with mechanical experience.
* Experience in distribution and warehouse engineering/maintenance management and leadership.
* Knowledge of refrigeration, MHE, building maintenance, IT systems, and supply chain optimization.
* Good interpersonal skills and team-oriented attitude.
* Willingness to learn and improve skills.
* Own transport required due to location; public transport is unavailable.
