Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Ward Manager post on Bryngofal Ward, our Adult Mental Health Acute Admissions Ward in Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.
The Service strives to provide high quality acute inpatient mental health care to the local population. The post holder will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills and adaptability in the face of the day to day clinical, managerial and professional challenges. The successful applicant will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse and must have experience of working in adult acute in-patient settings.
Main Duties of the Job
1. The day to day clinical leadership and management of the ward.
2. Supporting staff and ensuring exemplary patient care is provided.
3. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Knowledge
* RMN (RNMH)
* Hold a recognised management qualification at postgraduate diploma level, and/or a specialist qualification related to working with individuals with serious enduring mental illness at postgraduate diploma level, or equivalent experience along with being prepared to undertake a recognized qualification at this level.
* Highly developed Specialist knowledge and expertise acquired through a combination of in depth experience and advanced training skills developed through specialist post registration training.
* Highly Specialist Knowledge of clinical area and client group required to perform effectively in the post.
Desirable Qualifications and Knowledge
* WNB 998/Practice Teacher Award and assessing or equivalent.
* HCR-20 Training.
Essential Experience
* Leadership skills, current experience in area of practice or similar.
* Previous experience of supervising staff.
* Relevant previous experience of working in a multi-professional/agency setting.
Desirable Experience
* Experience at manager/leadership role.
Language Skills
* Welsh Speaker (Level 1) - Desirable.
