About Community Furniture Stores Community Furniture Stores (CFS) is a grassroots charity tackling furniture and digital poverty across North Yorkshire. With three thriving stores selling affordable pre-loved and new furniture, we're making a difference in our communities through furniture reuse, IT equipment provision, and skills development. We're at a pivotal moment as we merge our three charities into one organisation with a trading subsidiary. This strategic evolution will strengthen our financial sustainability, streamline operations, and position us to increase our impact and achieve our mission of everyone having equal access to the support needed to improve homes, lives, and lifestyles. About the Role We're seeking an exceptional Head of Retail to lead our trading arm during this transformative period. Reporting to the CEO, you'll develop and execute an innovative retail strategy across our three stores, driving sales growth to fund our charitable activity, while remaining firmly rooted in our communities. Key responsibilities: Create and implement a forward-thinking retail strategy to drive growth and streamline operations Lead and develop three Operations Managers, building high-performing teams Establish exceptional retail standards and a welcoming, customer-focused culture Oversee logistics, compliance, and the implementation of new systems Provide data-driven insights on sales performance to the CEO and Board Represent and advocate for our charitable mission in the wider communities The role will require regular travel to our three stores in York, Scarborough and Selby. You can choose to be based in any of our stores and flexible working is also possible. We will consider requests for this role to be 4 days a week (30 hours), the salary will be pro-rated accordingly.
