Role Overview: Carpenter
The Carpenter is responsible for delivering 'Right First Time' event builds within budget, adhering to all health and safety guidelines across various clients and markets, focusing on live events both large and small.
You will collaborate closely with production managers, project managers, operations managers, skilled carpenters, and operations teams to ensure all projects and live build installations meet and exceed client requirements.
What You Will Be Doing
* Attending daily production meetings
* Working with production managers on build schedules and developing build and event ideas
* Constructing builds at production facilities and on-site at client locations
* Communicating with clients and onsite tradespeople
* Experience with event and exhibition builds, festivals, and roadshows
* Working effectively as part of a team, taking instructions or leading when necessary
* Understanding and following build drawings
* Utilizing drawings and planning within a busy production environment
* Operating wood shop tools and machinery, such as wall saws and table saws
* CNC experience is a plus; training will be provided
Skills and Experience Needed
* Excellent timekeeping and communication skills
* Ability to lift manually and work at heights
* Strong carpentry and joinery skills
* Knowledge of Octanorm and event build systems is beneficial
* Understanding of electrical LED lighting and AV systems is beneficial
* Problem-solving skills, ability to meet deadlines, and excellent organization
* Ability to multitask and prioritize across multiple activities
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Willingness to participate in all aspects of event or exhibition builds
* Computer literacy, especially MS Office
* Health and Safety training (desirable)
