You will be joining a thriving mathematics faculty which offers GCSE Mathematics, Statistics and Further Mathematics and A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. We value collaboration to ensure there is a vibrant learning and teaching experience for all with opportunities to get involved with visiting speakers, trips, external lectures, presentations and EPQ.
Mathematics and Further Mathematics courses at A Level and GCSE are very popular and oversubscribed. We currently have 4 teaching groups in Year 12 and Year 13. Results are testament to our diligent and hard-working students and staff. In 2024, for A Level Mathematics, 75% achieved grades A*-B and A Level Further Mathematics achieved 56% A*/A.
A good number of students go on to study mathematics-related courses at university. In recent years the faculty has prepared students for courses at Oxford and Cambridge, Warwick, Nottingham, Bath and other Russel Group Universities.
Super curricular activities include opportunities to attend a mathematics residential course at Cambridge University, FMSP online courses, Maths in Action lectures in London, TED talks, UKMT competitions and the opportunity for students to improve leadership skills and become Maths Captains.
