Locum Consultant in OMFS with subspecialist in Orthognathic

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is looking for a full-time Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. This post is one focusing on Deformity/Orthognathic subspecialist interest and general OMFS work. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team of supportive consultants providing Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Services to the County of Shropshire and a substantial part of the adjacent Welsh County of Powys.
Main duties of the job
1. You will be required to undertake general OMFS work as part of service provision requirements.
2. You will undertake Outpatient Clinics at both Hospitals with a main inpatient base and dedicated Head and Neck ward at Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.
3. You will undertake both daycase and inpatient operating which is mostly based at the Royal Princess Hospital at Telford. There is the main theatre complex as well as newly built elective hub for daycase procedures.
4. There is a 1 in 5 general on call rota with a separate oncology flap cover rota.
5. To have excellent team-working skills with the abilities and professional attitude to work well in a multi-professional team.
6. To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners.
7. To follow patients throughout their clinical pathways.

Job responsibilities
A formal job plan will be agreed between the successful candidate and their Clinical Director and consultant colleagues, on behalf of the Medical Director within 3 months of starting in post. A full-time job plan is based on a 10 PA working week. The job plan will be reviewed annually and is a prospective agreement that sets out the consultant's duties, responsibilities, and objectives for the coming year. It covers all aspects of a consultant's professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities. It will provide a clear schedule of commitments, both internal and external and will include personal objectives, detailing links to wider service improvements and trust strategic priorities.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification
* Possession of both a medical degree and Dental degree from UK recognised institutions.
* Current ATLS provider certificate
* ATLS trainer status
* MFDS or equivalent
* Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons, or equivalent
Entry Criteria
* Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)
* Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery or equivalent
* 5 years of training within the NHS required for the specialty with evidence of validated surgical logbooks
* Successful completion of an SAC approved 5-year minimum training programme in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, or within 6 months of completion
* Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: -Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) -Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
