About The Cromwell Hospital
The Cromwell Hospital is a major private hospital in West London providing outpatient and inpatient services. The hospital has 180 beds and 4 suites, 6 theatres, level 2 and 3 full intensive care facilities, paediatrics, diagnostics, physiotherapy, and a dedicated day surgery unit.
The Cromwell Hospital delivers Cardiac Diagnostic Services 8am to 8pm Monday – Friday. Therefore, there will be a requirement to work through flexible work shifts.
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and competent Cardiac Physiologist who wishes to continue undertaking high-quality clinical activity in cardiac rhythm management and arrhythmia analysis, but also wants to have a broader portfolio of roles, including leadership and teaching in a department. You will be a team player with a demonstrable proven record of working to a high standard and able to build good working relationships with the wider MDT. This role will be based in Cromwell Hospital’s Clinical Investigation Centre.
Duties and Responsibilities:
You will perform pacemaker, ICD, and CRT checks independently and to a high level of skill and quality, including device optimisation and communication with patients’ Consultants as required. You will also perform and interpret ECG, exercise stress tests, Holter and BP monitors autonomously, and you’ll be expected to support our Radiology and Radiotherapy departments with patient activity where device support is required, including new technologies as and when deemed safe.
You’ll be accountable for monitoring and actioning device advisories; monitoring and managing updates to device programmers and other arrhythmia equipment, e.g., ECG machines, Holter and BP monitors, in collaboration with the Medical Library as required; organising, monitoring and guiding cardiac administrative staff in remote device clinics, including individual payments and packages, as well as transfers into the local clinic and out to other departments as necessary; monitoring and managing monitor waiting lists and workload, supporting administrative staff with guidance on bookings.
What You’ll Bring:
* BSc (Hons) in Clinical Cardiac Physiology or BSc in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or equivalent (essential)
* Cardiac Devices accreditation by one or more of the following: International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE), European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS) (essential)
* Evidence of maintaining relevant Continuing Professional Development ILS - Immediate Life Support Course
* Being fully competent at ECG recording and interpretation, exercise ECG stress testing, and ambulatory ECG monitoring (essential)
