Project Engineer - Water & Infrastructure
Location: Walsall (with travel up to 60 miles)
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000
Are you a Project Engineer with experience in water and infrastructure projects? My client is looking for a skilled Project Engineer to join a leading Midlands-based contractor working on a multi-disciplinary portfolio with Severn Trent Water.
The Role:
As a Project Engineer you will play a vital role in managing both internal teams and external supply chain partners across projects valued between £1m and £30m. Working on water and wastewater infrastructure, you'll support project delivery teams from concept design to final handover, ensuring smooth coordination between all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
ECI Phase: Attend site/client meetings, coordinate design, assist with feasibility studies, and support tender processes.
Detailed Design: Manage supply chain, issue drawings, control documentation, and attend design meetings.
Construction: Assist in transitioning from design to delivery, coordinate procurement schedules, manage technical queries, and oversee commissioning plans.
Handover & Commissioning: Support project completion, ensure documentation is in place, and attend post-project reviews.
About You
Strong knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, and risk management.
Experience with Primavera P6 or similar planning tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and familiarity with CAD software.
CSCS Manager's Card required.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to problem-solve and drive projects forward.Desirable:
Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
SSSTS/SMSTS certification and knowledge of H&S regulations.
Experience managing civil engineering projects.
