About the opportunity
As Associate Director for Information Technology, you will lead the seamless operation of the Society’s IT functions across all of our services and drive our technology transformation strategy. This includes safeguarding digital assets through robust cybersecurity measures, designing scalable and efficient solutions, and providing timely and effective support through our service delivery function.
As an established leader of technology change and transformation, your remit will also include leading a team of capable individuals to ensure reliable service delivery, driving innovation in software development, and maintaining a resilient and high-performing digital infrastructure. As someone with experience of developing an IT Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in aligning technology initiatives with the goals and strategy of the wider organisation, mitigating risks, and empowering the organisation to leverage technology for our continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a technology strategy that supports our future needs and enhances service levels to both internal and external customers.
* Using commercial supplier management skills to foster and develop excellent relationships with vendors, challenging where required and managing budgets to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
* Lead a range of technology transformation and change projects and foster a culture of change management and continuous improvement.
* Deputise for the Chief Technology Officer at Board level, translating complex technology subject matter into an accessible and clear narrative.
* Oversee IT service delivery, including a helpdesk team, to ensure system availability at all times.
* Work collaboratively with other business units, aligning technology initiatives with overall business and strategic goals.
* Engage closely with the Head of Cybersecurity to enhance security capabilities and integrate cybersecurity measures across IT delivery.
* Upskill and mentor IT and digital teams to enhance their capabilities and foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
* Provide data led oversight on governance and change management across various projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
Desired Experience
* Proven expertise as a technology leader at an enterprise level, with a background in IT service delivery and/or operational excellence.
* Demonstrable commercial and supplier management experience, and a track record of achieving performance improvement and cost efficiencies, ideally within complex multi-supplier environments.
* Detailed and credible knowledge of cloud-based systems and of managing high-risk systems to mitigating future technical vulnerabilities.
* Successful leadership of technology change and transformation projects, with a focus on improving service delivery and business continuity.
* Passion for leading, mentoring and developing talent, driving a culture of growth and learning within the IT team.
* Experience of working to a senior level and engaging with a wide range of competent stakeholders and customers.
