Duties:
* Technical support for staff and students in learning and professional environments.
* Supporting and managing equipment, cameras, and media, music and theatre requirements, providing technical support across lighting, sound, stage, health and safety, and operating Audio-Visual systems in the theatre.
* Acting as Crew in various forms (SM, DSM, ASM, Lighting, Sound, and FX) and attending production meetings.
* Organisation and supervision of learners in the theatre, dance & music studio environments.
* Management, organisation, ordering, and maintenance of audio-visual equipment and specialist materials, as well as tracking department spending.
* Utilising specialist equipment including sound and lighting consoles, PA systems, lighting fixtures, microphones and microphone techniques, as well as specialist software (Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Adobe Creative Suite, and QLab). Involvement with the diagnosis of technical errors with the listed specialist equipment.
* Assisting in the preparation and organisation of displays, both within the Faculty and outside.
* Preparing materials and setting up equipment for use in studios and workshops, including musical instruments.
* Providing practical assistance to staff in the department and supporting students when classes are in operation.
* Assisting in departmental administrative tasks which include cataloguing, filing, photocopying, and labelling of resource materials.
Skills/Experience:
* Experience in prioritising and organising workload, supporting a team.
* Knowledge of set building, manual handling, and general health & safety requirements associated with professional theatre/music facilities.
* Practical experience in supporting an academic Music and Performing Arts environment.
Qualifications:
* English and Maths to level 2.
