Job overview
Fixed term Full Time Specialist Physiotherapist, Pelvic Health Band 6 University Hospitals Dorset based between Poole and Christchurch sites, with some other off-site working, such as supporting mass clinics at Royal Bournemouth. We are pleased to offer the opportunity to support the pelvic health physio team to improve the current long waiter referral to treatment pathway for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction.

Christchurch and Poole are friendly, welcoming hospitals where the PH physiotherapists are part of the outpatient physiotherapy team and well-integrated into the MDT and Maternity services. You will have a keen interest to develop your skills in all aspects of Pelvic Health, including Antenatal MSK, Perinatal Pelvic Health, including inpatient work at the new BEACH maternity unit Royal Bournemouth site and Men’s health and colorectal.
Main duties of the job
You will:
1. Provide evidence-based, specialist care to perinatal, urogynecology, male and colorectal patients
2. Contribute to key aspects of the service, mentoring of Band 5 and students and supporting the wider Pelvic Health Physiotherapy team, including cross-site and off-site working
3. Promote and deliver a high quality, evidence-based, customer-focused service
4. Work within national and local guidelines, including working at off-site clinics
You will have:
1. Degree (BSc Hons Physiotherapy) or equivalent
2. Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of all pelvic health case types and if possible, also have some experience with complex and varied pelvic health caseloads
3. MSK experience and an understanding about onward MSK care
4. Working knowledge of Badgernet or similar Maternity systems, and familiarity of acute care provision to perinatal inpatients and escalation of AN MSK care
5. Experience of working successfully in partnership with consultants, midwives and other relevant medical practitioners, for example within an MDT or shared pathway and participating in creating innovative solutions for new services
6. Experience leading patient groups both in person and virtually
7. Empathy and kindness
You will have an excellent track record of Team working, be able to demonstrate how to find solutions collaboratively and undertake support to junior staff & students alongside your own CPD and learning profile. You will be interested in working towards full membership of POGP.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will take on the project and be directly supervised by the Service Lead. They will contribute in a number of ways including to back fill and release specialist pelvic health physiotherapists, to assist with the co-ordination and delivery of patient education workshops, to support telephone triage and treat processes and to deliver commencement of face to face care and contribute to the associated follow up physiotherapy care. The post holder will also capture data from the 6-month project to represent efficiencies and benefits to patient care.

Essential criteria:
1. Degree (BSc Hons Physiotherapy or equivalent)
2. Current HCPC registered Physiotherapist
Desirable criteria:
1. Full or Affiliate member of POGP
Experience
Essential criteria:
1. Experience working in NHS
2. At least 2 years post graduate physiotherapy experience
3. Have had experience of Band 5-6 MSK outpatient Physiotherapy
4. Experience of using electronic patient/service user record systems
5. Proven advanced clinical assessment/ reasoning/ problem solving skills within clinical area
Desirable criteria:
1. Have had some experience working as a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist in a professional setting
2. Have demonstrable AN MSK experience
