Senior Environmental Consultant This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with relevant experience from the environmental, ground improvement, ground investigation, site investigation, ground stabilisation, remediation or contaminated land sectors. They have an excellent reputation for the successful management of complex environmental incidents for commercial clients in the construction, energy, chemical, industrial and agricultural markets offering design and implantation of in situ remediation programmes on often challenging brownfield sites. They also offer a wide range of soil and groundwater remediation treatments, and additionally the design of sustainable environmental based solutions to the public sector, property developers, construction contractors, and to the chemical and petrochemical industry. Overview Our clients environmental teams across the UK have a strategy to grow significantly over the next three to five years and thus have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Consultant to play a key role in realising this strategy. The successful candidate will possess experience in the management of environmental projects including all aspects of fieldwork data gathering, risk assessment and factual and interpretive reporting. The Role Reporting to the Regional Manager, as a Senior Environmental Consultant, your focus will be on providing cradle to grave project management for environmental projects, including all aspects of fieldwork data gathering, risk assessment and factual and interpretive reporting. Project budgeting and delivery, ensuring deadlines are met in line with clients SLAs Gathering robust fieldwork data Oversight of specialist subcontractors such as remediation contractors Observing health, safety and environment rules and procedures Maintaining project communication on technical and commercial levels to a diverse range of clients, regulators and stakeholders Writing technically sound and commercially focused proposals, scopes, and reports Mentoring and supporting junior team members as required The Person Ideally (but not essentially) you will possess a relevant degree within a related discipline (geology, earth sciences etc), combined with proven experience as an Environmental Consultant, with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment expertise Experience completing factual and interpretative Preliminary Risk Assessments (desk based and intrusive) A full UK driving licence Understanding of current and emerging environmental legislation Detail orientated with good organisation, time-management, analytical and numerical skills Excellent communication and written skills, with the confidence to interact effectively with clients and the public Commercial awareness both in project costing and also risk management An attractive salary, plus bonus, car allowance and a full benefits package (permanent) is on offer to the successful candidate, along with longevity, security and variety of work, given the companys forward order workload and their continued commitment to growth across the sector.
