Applications are welcome from all individuals who have a passion for improving services and the ambition to support the Ward Manager to take Ward 35 forward with their STAQC accreditation.
Main duties of the job
The team within this service work efficiently and effectively at a fast pace to support both elective and non-elective surgery, diagnosis, intervention, and ultimately safe discharge.
Ward 35 is a busy and rewarding environment to work in. You will work alongside and will be supported by the Ward Manager, Matron, Senior General Manager, Ward Sisters, and a full complement of Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates, Health Care Assistants, Military nursing colleagues, and Ward administration support, to deliver excellence in patient care and experience. You will be supported to deliver key performance indicators, understanding the impact on the patients and your team. You will energise, empower, and lead your team compassionately to achieve the vision of Ward 35.
You will deputise for the Ward Manager in their absence and act as a role model for junior members of the team in the delivery of a high standard of nursing care.
The role requires you to be flexible, resilient, and forward-thinking.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:

* Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills
* Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role
After you complete this four and a half days of training, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at levels 3, 5, and 7.

Qualifications and Training
* Registered Adult Nurse
* Diploma in Adult Nursing
* Current Nursing and Midwifery Council Registration
* Recognised teaching qualification
* BSc in Adult Nursing
EXPERIENCE
* Experience of working within an Acute or Community setting
* Experience of multi-disciplinary working
* Experience working in this specialty
