Your role at Veezu: Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely compensation for colleagues while maintaining compliance, the Payroll Assistant will support the Payroll Manager in processing and managing payroll. You will also assist in tracking attendance, calculating wages, deductions, and other payroll-related tasks. Who are Veezu? We are a tech-driven on-demand mobility service that supports our hyper-local communities, helping them thrive and so much more What you’ll do: Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring accurate calculations for employee wages, bonuses, overtime, commissions, and statutory deductions such as PAYE and NIC. Maintain and update payroll records, including salary changes, deductions, adjustments, personal details, tax codes, and pension enrolments. Ensure accurate tracking and input of attendance records, sick leave, and holiday hours into the payroll system. Prepare and submit required tax forms, such as P60s and P11Ds, at year-end, staying up-to-date with payroll tax laws and regulations. Respond to payroll-related enquiries, resolving discrepancies and providing clear explanations on pay, deductions, and benefits. Generate payroll reports and summaries for internal and external use, including audits and benefits administration. Safeguard the confidentiality of payroll information and colleague data, ensuring compliance with ISO27001 and high standards of Information Security. Support payroll-related administrative tasks, special projects, and other duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager. What you’ll need: Strong knowledge of payroll procedures, regulations, and Auto Enrolment requirements. Proficiency in payroll software, with Sage 50 Payroll experience preferred. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including working with formulas, data analysis, and report generation. Excellent numerical and analytical abilities with high attention to detail and accuracy. Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality. Proven ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple payrolls, especially for high employee volumes. Where you’ll be: This role will be based out of our Cardiff HQ.
