Job summary Exciting Opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse - Chemotherapy Day Unit Are you passionate about Oncology and Haematology nursing? Join our dynamic and supportive Chemotherapy Day Unit as a Band 5 Staff Nurse. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to a diverse group of chemotherapy patients in a fast-paced, nurse-led environment. If you're ready to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you Main duties of the job o To plan, implement, deliver and evaluate nursing care within the day unit.o To be responsible for high standards of nursing care.o To assist in the auditing of patient care and service delivery.o To maintain good nursing documentation in accordance with trust policy.o To maintain patient confidentialityo To ensure safe and appropriate discharge from the Day Unit following consultation/treatment.o To be aware of legislation regarding Health and Safety and COSHH and to act accordinglyo To demonstrate a sound knowledge of the principles of infection control and perform to the highest standards when completing asceptic techniqueso To manage and advise patients and other members of staff on peripheral and central lineso To be able to interpret blood results and act accordinglyo To acquire, use, develop and teach additional skills e.g. venesection, cannulation and venepuncture.
