An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the research team at Hollinswood house CDC to contribute to a groundbreaking colorectal cancer diagnostic study.
This band 6 role involves working with the team to deliver trials to our SATH population, giving them the opportunity to participate in developing novel and innovative treatments and interventions.
No two days will look the same as you work on new trials, follow-ups, screening, and recruiting patients while guiding them through their research journey.
A large part of this role will be supporting the TRIOMIC colorectal study looking at a novel diagnostic device. The focus of this role will be to support the recruitment and follow-up of patients in studies, both academic and industry-sponsored.
The role will involve identifying, screening, consenting, recruiting, and conducting follow-up with patients in many national clinical studies, as well as entering data onto spreadsheets and data collection forms. The successful post holder will have overall day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of clinical protocols into non-interventional as well as more complex interventional academic and industry studies.
Some cross-site working may be incorporated with this role.
Working for your organisation
You will be line managed by the Band 7 Team Lead Research Sister but work closely with Consultants, Registrars, and the wider MDT. You will also work closely with the Research and Innovation Team to promote the importance of clinical research across the Trust.
You will be expected to attend local Clinical Research Network meetings as well as Investigator meetings. You will also be provided with training to fulfil the role.
You will be required to engage the clinical staff to facilitate recruitment into both simple and more complex clinical studies, often in quite stressful situations and at short notice.
Ideally the post holder will have recent experience of working in Clinical Research or the ability to demonstrate a real passion for research. You must be flexible and hard-working with the ability to manage your workload effectively to cope with tight deadlines and conflicting demands.
