An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Manager to join our team at Priory Middleton St George.
The Priory Hospital Middleton St George is located close to Darlington, County Durham and provides individualised treatment and care for people with mental health needs of adults who present with complex and challenging behaviours, in a safe and supportive environment.
As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for leading the maintenance team, managing the smooth operation of the hospital, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for patients and staff alike.
In this dynamic role, you will:
Be responsible for ensuring high standards of maintenance throughout the hospital and grounds. You will organise and undertake general maintenance which may include basic plumbing, tiling, painting and decorating, groundwork, general building work, replace light bulbs, cleaning gutters, etc.
In addition to performing routine duties you will need to have the ability to think outside the box and react to emergency and unplanned situations.
Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations is essential and experience in a similar setting would be advantageous. As a Maintenance Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
* Collaborate with Departments/Wards: Act as a key partner to other departments, responding to requests and providing support to maintain exceptional service quality throughout the hospital.
* Troubleshoot & Innovate: Solve technical challenges swiftly and work proactively to implement preventative maintenance programs, reducing downtime and enhancing productivity.
* Drive excellent standards and performance in health and safety, risk management and control of work and ensure compliance with Priory Safety Policy.
* Manage the performance of the team and individuals to increase productivity and quality outputs whilst driving consistency and implementing and sharing best practice.
* Manage Projects: Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules, perform inspections, and allocate resources to maximize operational efficiency.
* Test and record water temperatures and temperature control systems on showers and similar items.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and working practices and implement fire prevention checks and regular checks of plant and document checks.
* Report any accidents immediately to the Manager on duty and complete appropriate documentation immediately.
Knowledge & Skills:
* Experience of managing and leading a team with a proven track record of driving sustainable performance against challenging targets.
* Experience of business planning, resource, and budget management.
* You will also benefit from having previous experience of carrying out maintenance.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations is essential as is a full and clean driving license.
* Understanding of COSHH is important however training in this area can be provided.
