This is a full-time opportunity, on a fixed term contract/internal move or temporary promotion basis until February 2028. The roles will be lab based in South Mimms, Hertfordshire. The Science, Research and Innovation Group delivers public health impact, world-leading research innovation, and a unique proposition for patients and users via an ambitious Science Strategy which will balance innovation against sustainability and affordability. It is divided into 6 sub-Groups, Innovation Accelerator, Clinical Investigations and Trials, Research and Development, Standards Lifecycle, Control Testing and Quality Assurance and Health & Safety. The Vaccines team is the largest within the R&D function - consisting of around 60 scientists across 8 Research groups. Whats the role? This is a fixed term role funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council as part of the Future Vaccines Manufacturing Hub (FVMH), Imperial College. The aim of the FVMH is to advance the manufacture and deployment of cost-effective vaccines, producing standards and underpinning research for priority pathogens that are of concern for public health in low-and-middle income countries (LMIC). The organisations involved cover industry, academia, and government and being part of the FVMH will provide the post holder with a broad understanding of the vaccine lifecycle and landscape globally.
