Are you ready to join a team of talented engineers and shape the future of the Nuclear Industry? Joining our established and expanding Nuclear team as a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer means engaging in a diverse and growing array of UK-based projects. This role offers the opportunity to participate in multi-disciplinary projects at various stages of their lifecycle, from client consultancy to delivering comprehensive engineering design solutions. Your responsibilities will include client interaction, preparing bids and proposals, and overseeing project delivery in line with AECOM's standards for quality, safety, and environmental care.
As we continue the growth and expansion of our nuclear team in Warrington, there has never been a better time to join our nuclear team and work on some of the most exciting projects in the industry.
Here's what you'll do:
1. You will be responsible for delivery of Mechanical Building Services design & engineering within that department, including the production of design documentation, design substantiation, as well as checking and approval of the work of other engineers & designers.
2. Lead design strategies for mechanical heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and other building services systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards.
3. Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards, such as LEED, BREEAM, or local energy efficiency requirements.
4. Implement best practices in sustainable and energy-efficient design, utilizing new technologies, renewable energy sources, and smart building systems.
5. Perform technical audits and peer reviews of engineering designs to ensure quality, safety, and performance standards.
6. Collaborate with our in-house multidisciplinary team and external third-party consultants to deliver integrated design consultancy services on projects.
7. You will be responsible for supporting and training more junior members of the MEP team.
Qualifications

Here's what we're looking for:
1. Qualified to a minimum of HND level and preferably have a good relevant engineering degree.
2. Incorporated Engineer and working towards chartership.
3. Membership of CIBSE, or a relevant and equivalent professional body.
4. Strong experience in mechanical building services design from working in a range of market sectors, with a strong understanding of design principles and the ability to apply them.
5. Understanding and knowledge using IES and AUTOCAD.
6. Prepares detailed technical reports, cost estimates, and design specifications with minimal oversight.
7. Ensures design compliance with regulatory standards, client requirements, and project specifications.
8. Ability to provide support to junior engineers.
