The Priory Learning Trust (Somerset Business Award winner for Employer of the Year) is looking to recruit a Learning Support Unit Mentor to work at Worle Community School – An Academy site in Weston-super-Mare, a five minute drive from the M5 junction, 2.9 miles from the beach, with strong public transport links.

What you will do to be successful here;
Provide 1 to 1 and small group support to students in and out of taught curriculum to enable them to learn and improve their interactions with others.
Set and maintain a calm and positive environment in which students can learn and which is conducive to good behaviour.
Promote positive values, attitudes and behaviours to students.
What you will need to succeed;
Relevant professional qualifications, including in Childhood Trauma and ACEs.
Will have awareness of national frameworks, and evidence of working with students with a range of learning difficulties.
An understanding of the range of issues that can affect young people, their families and disadvantaged sections of the community.

This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity.
