We’re looking for a motivated, hands on Operations Manager to help lead London operations with the potential for quick career progression.
This is very much a get your hands dirty role. One day you will be talking to our tech team about product road map, the next day you could be sorting parcels in the street out of the back of a van. You should be a person who believes in the idea that you would never ask someone to do something you’re not willing to do yourself. You should be comfortable working in a pre-seed stage startup environment.
Responsibilities:
* Delivering Parcels (we all do this)
* Planning and optimising delivery routes using company software.
* Overseeing all riders and drivers ensuring they set off efficiently in the morning.
* Monitoring and supporting riders and drivers to make deliveries as efficiently as possible.
* Ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the London depots are running efficiently including pick and pack, receiving, shipping and so on.
* Manage hiring for riders, warehouse associates, and associate operations managers.
* Maintaining regular communication with all levels of the business including riders, and the executive team.
* Ensure Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to.
* Ensure all parcel issues are sorted quickly and all vehicle issues are attended to. Occasionally heading into the field to address breakdowns or to deliver parcels to customers.
* Leading a team of Associate Operations Managers.
* Develop, structure and implement new policies and procedures that focus on improving company performance, safety, quality and service.
* Drive improvements in people, processes and technology.
* Drive cost reduction through operational efficiencies.
* Lead operations in London.
* Conduct and lead weekly and monthly meetings with staff to discuss overall performance.
* Lead and communicate positively to ensure a harmonious work environment and customer satisfaction.
Experience:
* Experience in logistics and new business development.
* History of managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
* Proven ability to identify, analyse, and solve ambiguous problems with an extreme attention to detail.
* A track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Previously worked in a high-growth situation and/or start-up environment and is experienced in implementing processes and systems for efficient operations.
* Excellent time management, organisational, communication and presentation skills with strict attention to detail.
* Prior work experience in a start-up environment preferred.
