18. We are aged between 40 and 70.
19. We all have Mental Health problems and various Health conditions, but we are very independent and most of our support is done with prompting around daily tasks to support us to manage things for ourselves.
20. We have a long-standing amazing staff team who work in some very challenging situations, but they all know us really well and we get the support we need to manage these. Our staff are fully trained to meet our ever-changing needs.
Other important information?
21. We have 1 member of staff 8-22 in 2 bungalows/1 staff 10-22 in another – we also have a sleepover member of staff 22-8 and a waking night member of staff 22-8 - occasionally we have an 8-3 member of staff that supports us with Activities.
22. Transport links are excellent near us, and we have a regular bus service that stops right outside our home with great links to Newcastle City Centre, North Shields, and the Coast.
Your values: What essential skills and experience is needed for the role?We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; From people with vast experience in a support worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.
