Internal rotation from days to night duty is in operation

We have full time and part time (30 hours) available
General Duties / Duties will include:
Carry out assigned tasks involving direct care in support of and supervised by a registered nurse.
Support the wider Multidisciplinary team to carry out rehabilitation programmes / activities and promote independence for our patients
Assisting patients with personal care including hair, teeth, nails. Assist with bathing in bed and in the bathroom, with turning and moving of patients, including the use of mechanical aids and bed appliances.
Helping to prepare patients for meals and assist in the service of meals.
Assist in the care of pressure areas and the incontinent patient helping with feeding of patients where required.
Assist with the keeping of routine charts – Fluid balance, Food record charts, intentional rounding logs
Experience in a care setting is preferable but not essential as full training will be given
Work as a team player with the ability to respond to the demands of this specialist and challenging area whilst demonstrating ELHT values and behaviours
Rakehead Rehabilitation Centre is a 17 bedded unit providing specialist neurorehabilitation for people with complex needs following a neurological event / diagnosis eg Acquired Brain Injury or spinal injury.
Our patients present with a combination of physical, psychological and cognitive impairments requiring the support of a dedicated MDT committed to supporting them to achieve their optimum level of independence.
We are looking for people to join our team and whilst experience in this are is desirable it is more important that our team is enthusiastic about working in this specialist area. If this is you then we would love to hear from you
1. Assist with the admission and discharge of patients - appropriate duties may include listing of clothing and assistance with dressing and undressing.
2 Assist with making occupied beds and strip and clean unoccupied
beds, according to infection prevention policies.
3 Help patients to prepare for meals and assist in the service of meals. Serve
refreshments and simple diets, where appropriate.
4 Help with the feeding of patients where appropriate.
5 Assist with bathing in bed and in the bathroom, with turning and moving
of patients, including the use of mechanical aids and bed appliances.
6 If required, help patients with personal hygiene, including care of hair, teeth and nails under supervision, assist with oral hygiene of conscious patients.
7 Assist HCAs and above, with the undertaking of ‘last offices’
8 Assist in the care of pressure areas and the care of the incontinent patient.
9 Participate in the rehabilitation of patients in hospital e.g., dressing, undressing, taking to the toilet and using commodes.
10 Participate in giving and/or removing toilet equipment.
11 Care of sanitary equipment, including decontamination of baths, bins and commodes after use and the decontamination of beds, lockers and other ward furniture.
