Job Purpose: To undertake efficient and professional duties in the role of quantity surveyor in support of the day-to-day activities of the commercial team. Ensure that commercial activities are effectively supported within specified timescales and to the continual satisfaction of company and client timescales and expectations.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1. Review initial tender and PQQ enquiries and identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks.
2. Involvement with PQQ and ITT processes and assist with submitting bids.
3. Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies.
4. Support all aspects of the commercial function for project and framework, including cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
5. Conduct detailed analysis and reporting on project and framework performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
6. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers’ stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
7. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
8. Perform risk, value management and cost control.
9. Cost control, planning, forecasting and estimation.
10. Assist operations management with contract administration.
11. Provide advice on contractual claims and dispute resolution.
Knowledge, Experience and Education Requirements
1. Impressive, demonstrable track record of skills/experience gained within a similar position within fast paced, highly demanding and challenging organisation.
2. Results driven with the capability of working on their own initiative.
3. Ability to deal with large amounts of data accurately and efficiently.
4. Knowledge and implementation of NEC contracts desirable.
5. High attention to detail.
6. Be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or alternative relevant disciple.
7. Have demonstrable experience (ideally a minimum of 2 years) as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry or rail industry.
