Driver Operations Manager / Transport Manager Are you a Transport Manager, Logistics Manager or Distribution Manager at the top of your game? Working alongside the Distribution Site Lead as part of the senior Management team at site, you will lead a large transport department to deliver our products safely through our network to our customer base. The Recipe To provide leadership to the Distribution teams at site, with a laser focus on safety, service to our customers, productivity and continuous improvement whilst managing cost control. You’ll lead the people agenda in line with our values and behavioural excellence framework. The ideal candidate would have experience of leading a large-scale transport department within a fast-paced operation across a 24/7 operation, being dynamic in their approach and able to keep ahead of the longer-term strategic ambitions of the business. The site now employs more than 130 drivers and is continually in a growth trajectory with an overall establishment of 200 drivers and warehouse colleagues, ensuring we get our quality products through to our customers. Banbury Distribution Centre is also a dedicated Test Centre for License Acquisition, developing and home growing our own drivers and supporting them through their required driving licences. Essential Ingredients Knowledge and experience of leadership within a logistics environment. Strong health, safety and environment knowledge and associated legislation (IOSH, Mental Health etc). A good working knowledge of HR, Finance, IT including SAP, Document Management systems & processes. A good knowledge of Distribution technology tools including Navigation Systems. Excellent people leadership techniques with the ability to lead and inspire a large team. Adopts a collaborative / enterprise leadership approach with overall business goals in mind. Excellent communication skills, articulate and able to develop effective, long-term relationships with key people. Establishes credibility with internal and external contacts at all levels Experience of change management / project management. Ability to drive continuous improvement to existing processes. Works using own initiative, is a self-starter. Certificate of Professional Competence of National Road Haulage Knowledge & understanding of BRC and Food Safety standards.
