Support Worker - EBD Children's Home
Willow Tree Kids Care Home is in New Malden.

We welcome applications from individuals who have experience and qualifications in the children’s residential childcare sector, but also those who feel they have something to offer our young people.
Duties:
1. Provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs.
2. Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
3. Support individuals in participating in community activities and social events.
4. Help individuals develop and maintain independent living skills.
5. Document and report any changes in behaviour or health status to appropriate personnel.
6. Collaborate with a team of professionals to create and implement individualized care plans.
7. Using your experience and skills – further developed with our support and training, you will assist with the care of our children and young people.
8. All of our homes adopt therapeutic practices, allowing you to develop into a specialist care provider. Training also includes reflective practice to consistently improve the way we care for children.
9. You will create positive relationships with the children, meeting their needs and safeguarding them at all times.
10. You will create timetables, setting boundaries and expectations for the young people. Consistency and organisation skills are key.
11. You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
Skills:
1. Able to demonstrate an understanding of the learning difficulties and how these may impact the lives of the young people that we support.
2. Empowering, approachable, and resilient worker who can inspire young people to engage in all aspects of their daily routine.
3. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided.
4. Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce) are desirable.
5. Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet.
7. Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
8. Knowledge of relevant safety protocols and procedures.

Pay: £11.44-£12.44 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 48 per week

1. Support worker Children: 1 year (preferred)
2. Residential Childcare: 2 years (required)
