An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Specialist Physiotherapist to work in the Elective Orthopaedic Therapy Team at Trafford hospital within the AHP Division.
You will be leading a dynamic, well-established, multidisciplinary team, alongside a Clinical Lead, experienced Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Assistants. We promote close multidisciplinary team working allowing a holistic approach to patient care.
The Orthopaedic therapy team operates a 7 day and evening twilight service and all staff are expected to contribute. You would also be expected to contribute to the on-call respiratory rota.

Main duties of the job
You will provide specialist elective orthopaedic knowledge to support the assessment and management of Elective Orthopaedic patients at the Trafford Elective Surgical Hub. You will work with a wide range of elective orthopaedic patients across the Day Surgery unit and the In-patient orthopaedic ward.
As part of this Band 7 role you will work closely with the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist and Band 7 Occupational Therapist to drive service developments and quality improvement initiatives. You will also be responsible for the supervision of registered and unregistered members of staff.
The department puts a strong emphasis on the learning environment and ensures that staff and students can develop skills and knowledge to their full potential, as the Band 7 Physiotherapist you would be expected to deliver undergraduate and staff training.

Essential
* BSc honours degree, or equivalent, in Physiotherapy
* HCPC registered
* Clinical educators course completed
* Significant post-grad experience in elective or general orthopaedics
* Evidence of relevant CPD
* Experience of supervision and supporting junior and non-registered staff
* Evidence of organisation and planning skills
* Evidence of MDT working
* Evidence of IT skills
* Evidence of advanced communication skills
* Willingness to participate in on-call, weekend and twilight rota
Desirable
* Audit and/or research experience
* CSP member
* Completed postgraduate leadership or management training
* Experience at Band 7 level
