Our Crick (NN6 7ED) site is now recruiting for a Shift Engineer on a full-time basis.
Shift: Any 5 in 7 Days.
Salary: £42,000 per annum.
Job Description
To ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the technical function and ensure that company quality standards are adhered to. The post holder must be able to work under pressure both as part of a team and on their own initiative. Must also be able to communicate effectively to ensure the smooth running of the department. Must be able to make own decisions and liaise with other department colleagues and/or departments.
* Assisting the Production team where possible.
* Providing engineering solutions and assisting in an operational capacity.
* Monitoring all machines and ancillary plant.
* Following preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules.
* Planned maintenance.
* Inspection outside production hours; some weekend overtime working will be required to suit the business needs.
* Carrying out scheduled work to restore machines and site back to standard.
* Carrying out changeovers when required.
* Looking for opportunities to continuously improve machine performance.
* Assisting in colleague training and development when required.
* Ensuring that good work practices and housekeeping are adhered to.
* Driving own personal development through training and work-based experience.
* Undertaking such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post.
Qualifications
* Experience of working in a food factory environment would be advantageous.
* Fully completed apprenticeship is desirable, with packing experience.
* Basic computer literacy.
* Able to communicate and motivate others, which is an essential part of the role. Understanding of internal systems and processes, with the ability to work within these parameters. An understanding of health and safety requirements is essential.
* Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive disposition, and a clear focus on meeting deadlines. Must be flexible in approach to work and undertake overtime during busy periods when required.
