Graduate Hotels is seeking a Sales Manager to join The Randolph Hotel and its brilliant team of hospitality enthusiasts!
The landmark 151-bedroom Randolph Hotel in Oxford is part of the Graduate Hotels collection. The boutique hotel takes inspiration from the prestigious Oxford University, with nods to college architecture and crests, as well as "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," created by alumnus Lewis Carroll.
THE ROLE
As a Sales Manager, you will pro-actively source new business for the hotel, develop relationships with agents and direct clients to keep the hotel a leader in the marketplace by following up on all sales leads, identifying opportunities, and conducting hotel presentations and site visits.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Local & national businesses and develop relationships to drive business in all segments (MICE, group, corporate and transient).
* To take the business to the next level with an all-encompassing strategy that envelopes all areas of the business and takes advantage of the opportunities available.
* To be responsible for the development and implementation of the hotel sales plan, which encompasses direct sales calls; telesales; research; appointment making and trading; promotional campaigns; corporate entertaining, networking, social events, client familiarisation visits and contract negotiation.
* To drive and coordinate all sales activity to maximise revenue from existing accounts at the hotel on a national and international level.
* To constantly recognise and develop new accounts from the corporate markets.
* To investigate new areas of business in terms of market development into new territories and market segments to quantifiable targets.
* To ensure the accurate processing, distribution and recording/filing and following up of all sales correspondence, including the execution of contracts, quotations, confirmations, and cancellations.
* Regularly meet with the hotel General Manager and Director of Sales to communicate customers' feedback, sales information, competitor knowledge, pricing strategies, and any other influences that may affect the business.
* Participating in trade shows and events within the hotels, the industry, and external organisations.
* Host client FAM trips at the hotel and conduct hotel show rounds.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU
* Computer literacy - Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
* Knowledge of Delphi, salesforce, and Opera Systems.
* Proactive sales experience within a hotel environment is a 'must'.
* Excellent communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English.
* Confident in meeting new people and presenting to large groups.
* Strong understanding of revenue management principles.
* Able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of all the key business segments; Corporate/MICE/Group/Leisure/Consortia.
