As the Peninsula Trauma Centre, University Hospitals Plymouth has a well-established team of MTCCs with the trust due to open the Major Trauma ward in December 2024 it is an exciting time to join us. The MTCC Team are responsible for coordinating the care, rehabilitation, repatriation and transfer in of all major trauma patients while ensuring seamless case management for all Major Trauma Centre (MTC) patients within the Trust. The essential components for this part of the role will include clinical co-ordination and facilitation of safe appropriate care for MTC patients during the acute phase and onwards during the patients stay. The post holders will need to be enthusiastic, dynamic, excellent communicators with effective influencing and negotiating skills and will be required to work with multi-disciplinary teams across the organisation. Within the MTCC role, a variable shift pattern will be required over a seven day period. The successful applicant must have recent clinical experience working with Major Trauma patients and good organisational skills. Main duties of the job The post holder will work in a small group of multi professional Major Trauma Centre Coordinators (MTCC) responsible for case management during the acute phase of care for all patients admitted with major trauma injuries. They will work closely alongside and provide clinical leadership for the data coordinators in the team as well as the governance, training and research and quality improvement leads. The MTC team will be responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing the care for all major trauma patients, including their acute phase of care, through to discharge for rehabilitation or repatriation across the Network and beyond.
