CF Roberts are looking for keen and enthusiastic Building Services Engineering apprentices for their September 2025 intake. In affiliation with our training provider, you will embark on an extensive 2 year apprenticeship, during which time you will learn ‘on the job’ whilst completing your Building Services Engineering qualification.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
* Install, maintain and repair water services e.g. heating pipework, radiators, boilers
* Install, maintain and repair ductwork systems e.g. ducts, extract grilles
* Diagnose and rectify faults on a range of heating & ventilating systems and equipment
* Commission systems to ensure maximum efficiency against design specification

* Comply with building services engineering industry regulations, standards, and guidance.
* Comply with health and safety regulations, standards, and practices.
* Identify and report hazards and risks in the workplace. Take action to mitigate hazards and risks.
* Comply with safe systems of work and apply control measures.
* Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Follow environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling, and disposal.
* Move, lift, and handle materials.
* Select and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Use and store hand tools, power tools and equipment.
* Prepare work area and complete set out requirements.
* Maintain a safe working area.
* Select materials, components, and fittings required to complete the work tasks.

* Carry out pre commissioning activities for building service engineering installations.

* Complete a final quality inspection.

* Interpret drawings from drawings, specifications, and system schematics.
* Record or enter information - paper based or electronic. For example, energy usage, job sheets, risk assessments, equipment service records, test results, handover documents and manufacturers' documentation, work sheets, checklists, waste environmental records and any legal reporting requirements.
* Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security regulations and polices.

Your training plan
You will split your time between working alongside a seasoned mentor and studying block release with our training provider. You will work towards your NVQ Level 2 in Building Services Engineering as well as gaining essential hands on experience on site. You will also have the opportunity to attend various additional courses throughout your tenure with us.
