Job Title: CNC Miller Setter Operator
Shift: Early and Lates, 5:30am - 3pm and 2:45am - 12:45pm
Rate: £22.38 per hour including shift allowance
The Job
* Be skilled in the use of appropriate measuring equipment and be able to interpret and accurately measure.
* Have knowledge and skill in the set up, guarding and use of appropriate machinery required to undertake manufacture.
* Ensure the preservation of materials, work in progress and equipment during manufacture, assembly and installation.
* Ensure all material issues are accurately booked against the works order and material usage controlled.
* Ensure the preservation of materials, work in progress and equipment during manufacture.
* Ensure accuracy of all job bookings and operation stages are booked off or closed down appropriately at the end of each shift or when job is complete.
* Identify all issues regarding machine capability and drawing issues to carry out task
* Postproduction activities must be attended to including but not limited to the return of spare material, production tools and Client drawings.
* Work in accordance within the constraints of a ISO 9001 and AS9100 accredited manufacturing environment.
* Ensure that good housekeeping of the manufacturing environment is always maintained in all areas.
* Ensure Company procedures and policies are adhered to.
* Undertake any other duties as identified from time to time by your Team Leader or Supervisor.
Requirements
* Must have QT250 experience!
* A keen eye for detail.
* Ability to work unsupervised when necessary.
* Must have good work ethic.
* Flexibility - shift working and overtime working maybe required.
* Willing to work (but not limited to) a double day shift pattern.
* A confident self-starter with analytical problem-solving skills.
* A calm team player with maturity to understand the ups and downs of a fast-paced High Variety, Low volume machine shop.
* Candidates with some ability to utilise Autodesk/Delcam Power Mill, programming software would be at an advantage.
* Time served Mechanical engineer with extensive machine shop experience (5 years minimum).
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, documents, manuals and technical instructions with clear understanding.
* Possess fundamental skills that are required to confidently set complex work pieces prior to machining to undertake manufacture.
* Experience in using up to date machining strategies utilising High Feed/Speed tooling.
* Be skilled and conversant in the setting and operation of Mazak VariAxis i500 and/or Mazak VTC800 5 Axis machining centres.
* Have a working knowledge of CNC Machine controls such as, Mazak Matrix2, Mazak Smooth X & Siemens D840.
* Have a good working knowledge and experience of material properties such as, Steels, Aluminium and Alloys.
