Job Summary
To assist with direct care of renal patients undergoing haemodialysis as delegated to and supervised by registered nurses/health care professionals. To participate as second on call to provide 1:1 emergency out of hours dialysis, including assisting the Doctor in the Renal Procedure room with dialysis access. This role will include twilight shifts.
Main duties of the job
1. Assist with the direct care of patients undergoing haemodialysis treatment.
2. Participate in on-call service.
3. Participate in twilight shifts.
4. Safely and accurately record patients' observations pre, during and post dialysis, escalating and reporting to the registered nurse/healthcare professional.
5. Ensure dialysis machines are lined, primed and then cleaned correctly for the next patient.
6. Undertake a weekly stock check and order the required consumables.
7. Work within a multidisciplinary team.
