The School of Mathematical Sciences at University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) seeks to fill an academic position at the level of associate professor. The School currently runs two degree programmes, which lead successful graduates to University of Nottingham degrees in BSc Honours Mathematics with Applied Mathematics and BSc Honours Statistics. All our teaching is delivered in English, which is the academic working language of the university.
About You
The person appointed will be expected to supervise postgraduate research students, conduct their own research, and play a leading role in the research activities of the School. The position is open to candidates with research interests in any field of Applied Mathematics or Statistics with a strong record of mathematical publications, such as in journals that are highly regarded (A, A*) by the Journal Ranking of the Australian Mathematical Society. Applicants must have experience of PhD student supervision and international experience of teaching mathematics in English.
Applicants will currently hold a senior lecturer/reader/associate professor rank or have at least four years of experience at lecturer/assistant professor rank.
Your Remuneration, Benefits and Support
The successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract for up to 5 years, which may be extended by mutual agreement. Salary will be within the range of RMB 628,750 to RMB 772,893 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance) and you will have a range of benefits and entitlements, including accommodation allowance, insurances, schooling support, home flight, relocation & repatriation support, and paid annual leave.
