For our Data Centre Segment regional Sales team, we are looking for a Data Centre Systems Engineer. The role is opened in a Hybrid setup for our offices in Dublin, Ireland or Slough/Greater London Area, the UK. It is reporting into the Head of EMEA Data Centre Design Engineering. Occasional travel may be expected in the EMEA region. Role overview: Reporting into the Head of Data Center Design & Engineering, the Data Centre Systems Design Engineer will be responsible for managing the design, development, and implementation of innovative Data Centre solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background in Data Centre design and a passion for driving innovation. This role requires influential technical leader who can drive design innovation, managing engineering teams, lead continuous improvement to enable the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and scalable Data Centre solutions. It offers a deep level of engineering support and direction relating to the design, build and operation of large Data Centres. Principally, this relates to the electrical infrastructure, but extends into the overall operational technology found in the Data Centre environment. The role requires expertise within electromechanical systems such a cooling, building management systems, energy management systems. It also requires a full appreciation of various building construction technologies and challenges. It also requires experience in the project management and supervision of build projects and the delivery of the various product technologies & services required in the Data Centre environment. Responsibilities: - Manage the programme and technical management of Data Centres solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of efficiency, reliability, and scalability. - Raise the standard of Technical Programme and Project Management within the DC Segment Organisation. - Ensure there are robust management practices in place for the design lifecycle of Data Centre projects, from initial concept through to handover and ongoing support. - Ensure that the Project Management implementation is aligned with the DC Segment Requirements across the Project Lifecycle. - Strategically identify and mitigate risks associated with Data Centre projects. - Ensure Eaton operations are aligned to Data Centre Industry norms and are fit for purpose - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and sales, to ensure the successful implementation of Data Centre projects. - Build relationships with both consultant and client organization(s) with a view to identifying their operational challenges and needs - Develop, Manage and Maintain the Consultant's & Client's CPD Programme with regular, consistent engagement - Drive innovation and push boundaries in Eaton's Data Centres design offering by staying up-to-date with the latest research, industry trends and technologies. - This an external facing role and the candidate will be representing Eaton as an Industry solutions expert. The person needs to develop trusted and influential relationships with Clients, Consultants, Partners and Industry peers. - Contribute & Support marketing campaigns & activities that can promote Eaton to Client relations and business Qualifications: - BSc / MSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. A Master's degree is preferred. - 5 to 10 Years of Experience in a relevant position. - Strong technical background in high tech industries (Data Centres, Pharma, Semi-conductors, etc.). - Advanced qualification in Project Management. - Proven track record of driving innovation in engineering design. - Excellent programme management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. - Familiarity with emerging technologies such as edge computing and AI. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to think strategically and drive long-term innovation. - Proven experience in building teams and supporting processes.
