We are recruiting to a newly created Parking Enforcement Manager post to support delivery of Buckinghamshire Council’s on and off-street parking enforcement activities. This is an exciting opportunity, and we are seeking individuals who are highly motivated, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and who are enthusiastic about delivering change. You will have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, along with experience of working in an enforcement environment at a manager level and have a good understanding of parking legislation and best practice.
A strategic role, but with specific requirements to contribute towards delivering the Council’s Parking Strategy; the post holder will play a key part in helping to increase parking compliance and reduce Blue Badge abuse across Buckinghamshire.

The parking service operates across Buckinghamshire to manage supply of parking, reduce congestion, promote safety, and encourage use of alternative transport options. Our enforcement activities cover on and off street including multi storey car parks in towns and villages across the county.

About the role
As the Parking Enforcement Manager, you will hold a critical position with a broad range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring we meet our enforcement priorities. You will lead a team of up to 56 staff delivering enforcement activities across a seven-day week. Some of your responsibilities include:
* Plan and organise work programmes to ensure delivery of a proactive enforcement service that meets organisational requirements, KPIs, operating hours, and deadlines. Lead on updating and delivery of the service plan for area of responsibility.
* Lead on development and implementation of enforcement operations relating to fraudulent use of Blue Badges.
* Contribute and play a key role in developing wider policies for the Parking Service, aligning to the Council’s strategic objectives for traffic movement across Buckinghamshire, linking to environmental, climate change, transport and regeneration works.
* Collaborate closely with the Head of Service to develop and promote the service, driving continuous improvements in performance and efficiencies.
* Contribute to the development of others through managing, sharing of technical and procedural knowledge, skills, and experience, acting as a coach or mentor.
* Assess situations and problems from a professional standpoint, developing and recommending feasible solutions to key issues, presenting, and preparing proposals and recommendations to inform senior management decision making.
As a ‘mobile’ worker, you will have the flexibility to schedule your diary to be able to meet with colleagues and stakeholders in a variety of locations, as well as spending time in the office.

Naturally we are looking for you to have the necessary qualifications/experience relative to parking enforcement functions. We are also looking for applicants with demonstrable and proven ability, evidenced by results, to lead a dynamic and diverse team.

This role is offered on a FTC/Secondment basis for a period of 12 months.
Salary is £55,683 - £58,540 (£57,493 - £60,443 from 1st June)
