The maintenance of medical equipment in NHS Fife is changing requiring a workshop manager, on a permanent basis, of the highest standard to support this change.
The medical equipment department currently operates as part of the estates team. This is being restructured to operate as a single management structure with a department manager in overall charge and this post as workshop manager in operational charge of the service delivery across NHS Fife.
Along with undertaking technical work, you will be responsible for ensuring that all department staff deliver the required support and that all medical equipment is fit for purpose and safe to use
The NHS Fife Medical Equipment department is working towards ISO 9001:2015 accreditation and you will ensure that the workshop is operated, and the service delivered to the quality standards required to achieve ISO 9001:2015 accreditation.
You will provide technical leadership to workshop staff, encompassing all aspects of the operational workload management and be responsible for ensuring that service delivery is of the highest standard meeting the required statutory and regulatory standards for the maintenance and servicing of medical equipment.
It is expected that you along with other staff will be able to deliver training to technical and clinical staff as and when required
For this appointment it will be necessary to have had previous experience in the maintenance of medical devices within a healthcare environment.
The qualifications for the post are as follows:
1. Relevant Degree or significant relevant experience in the maintenance and servicing of medical equipment. (Essential).
2. Management/supervisory qualifications (Desirable).
3. The post holder will have worked within the health service profession and be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of health & safety (Essential).
4. The post holder should be computer literate, with excellent communication skills, and be able to prioritise their workload. (Essential).
